Thanks a Lot, Matt★★★

Context: Matt was my sister's boyfriend at the time.

I was in an airport, escaping my family perhaps? I stayed in McDonald’s without Rebecca, got rave fliers, and then went to Blaine House. I arrived at Blaine House, and Jess helped me unpack. I was staying in what used to be my parents’ room, and Matt came to see me. The rave fliers, various knick-knacks, and surprisingly, all these sex toys were on the bed. Suddenly Matt is on his back with baby clothes on and shaving cream on his face and I’m sticking my plastic-wrapped toe into his butt. He makes some funny comments about how much he loves it but he wished my toe was backward. Why? Oh, to get his g-spot, of course. I told him how scared I was that Dan would come in, and voila! Dan charges in the door without knocking and does a double-take on Matt. I rush to cover the sex toys with a blanket. Dan loses his shit and gets crazy mean. He tries poking his fingers into my life and I get vicious mad back. Matt has reverted back to himself, wearing a dark blue sport shirt, leaning back, and smiling. Then Rox comes in raging, and demands my shoes. I throw them at her (in waking life, my arm slams the bed) and say “fine, take them.” Then I change my mind and say “No, fuck you, they’re mine, I bought them.” They both gasp and look at me with hatred. Then Rebecca wakes me up.

Lucid Pranks: Matt’s actions all seem very deliberate to me. From dropping in, to instigating that scene with the baby clothes and shaving cream, to leaning back and looking amused when Dan stormed in. I have to think that really was Matt having some fun at my expense. I’ve been known to play tricks on other dreamers when I’m semi-lucid, but certainly not like that.

Fear Creates: One of the most reliable laws of dreams is that whatever we focus our attention on will happen. This includes fears. No matter how unlikely it is to happen in physical life, that fear is precisely what will happen once it has our attention.
