The Piranha-Rat
Thursday in November, 1995

Many dreams, including how to fly: Leap into the air. Jump high, concentrating on the “up” part to bring it forth. You’re already flying. Forget to fall back down and you can go anywhere you want once you realize that you’ve succeeded.

The piranha-rat story is horrible. Madness, telepathy, it wont die, changed into Rebecca. Pleh!

Flying Tips: My “forget to fall back down” advice is similar to the advice given in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. In it, Adams explains “There is . . . a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss. . . . It’s no good deliberately intending to miss the ground because you won’t. You have to have your attention suddenly distracted by something else when you’re halfway there, so that you are no longer thinking about falling, or about the ground.” (Adams)
