The Descent★★★
December 26, 2025
New Town

I was up on the parapet of my house. I wanted the construction work to continue there, but it was very much unfinished. The banister was wobbly on one side and missing on another. Someone could fall off. I felt a pulse of fear and decided to go back down to the ground. As usual, I jumped to the globe nearby. The next jump was to the batman statue down below, but that was a long ways down. My perspective shifted outside and I saw myself standing on the globe, looking very unstable. I panicked a little. There was a 3-story wooden fence at the boundary of the property. Could I jump there? My perspective floated over there. Next thing I remember my perspective floated away and my body was clinging, three stories up, to the fence. I looked around. How to get down? I looked at the neighbor’s yard, then the one past it. I didn’t know those people. There were a couple kids running around through tall grass. My perspective naturally floated down to observe. They had an interesting flowing stone wall on the right side of the yard, next to their house. On the left side were some big flat rocks and trees, a lovely natural scene. At this point I had forgotten about the plot of getting down from the wall because my perspective was now at ground level.

The owner was out there and I introduced myself to him and shook his hand. I complimented his back yard, and he launched into a story of how the property was his parents’, the Chanels. His back yard was now this palatial 8-story mansion (though seemingly in miniature form). It was all in pink and yellow colors with ornate balconies outside each set of windows/doors. In that scene, the house was where the back yard used to be, and where his house used to be was an ornate iron fence and a short driveway to the road, where, rather than night, the sky was an orange and pink sunset. He asked if I knew anyone with an extra house in the area (meaning this block). I paused a moment, then said we might consider selling but I’d have to talk to my family about it. Then I began to think about the pool and the schools (in waking life). I then introduced myself to his wife.

References: The Chanels refers to the family who started the fashion empire.

Our Natural Motion: A moment of physical fear calls in my physical context. How do I get down from the parapet? I remember that I usually jump to the globe (this is new to me). But, finding myself unstable, I jump out of my body and look around. I consider the fence, and as the majority of my focus phases there, I find my body has joined me there, because I feel that I am where my perspective is. When my attention is drawn to the children playing next door, it naturally floats over to them, unintentionally resolving the whole story of figuring out how to get down.

The soul charges to where it wants to be, to what it is interested in, but the physical body may remain behind, out of fear. The soul leads the way, and the body might follow. Consider a girl who is attracted to a guy at a party. Her attention is focused on him. This means that up the stream, she is there with him. Her attention, her true self, is there. But she is afraid of rejection. Her body stays behind, anxious, nervous to approach. Up the stream, they have met. But her fear causes resistance at the physical level. Brennan describes this as “testing in the energy fields” to see if they are compatible (see “Relationship Cords” in energy-bodies.php).

Scenes Overtaking Scenes: The mansion scene was a rote of his parents’ mansion, which enlarged from “miniature form” over the original scene. It enlarged out around us, becoming the new scenery, including changing from night to sunset. This is also how telepathic windows open further and further to create a dream crossing or telepathic transport. It’s all tunnels opening up between scenes, tunnels that our attention travels through based on its focus.

This is the same thing as going into a rote, where we become smaller and descend into it. But it can also be viewed as starting at a small size and expanding out around us. The only difference is the feeling of what is moving.

The natural back yard also didn’t fit the neighborhood. That might have been part of the imagination of the children running around in the tall grasses.
