Dream Journal

Context: We've been very much into theme parks as of late.
3-4 AM is the hour of MADNESS!
It was night, and I was lost in this huge Disney theme park. I had arrived with Rebecca and the kids, but became lost. I was in this wandering, drunken state. I was at this Star Wars show. I saw everyone getting a box of gifts, and I went to ask a steward for one. He brought me one — it was this box with random stuff in it, including a replacement shell for a remote control — nothing I found valuable. He also brought me a large box that seemed like it had been meant to be delivered to me. It was a bike pedal and something else, packed as if it were bought used. I quickly remembered (concocted) a story that I had bought this as part of a video game for Jamie when he was really into trucks, and told the guy I must have ordered it 10 years ago because he was 14 now (this is correct as of two days ago). I asked him to return it and credit me the $15. After this, I went somewhere, got lost, and then started wandering around looking for my boxes, even though I didn’t care about them. I spoke to another steward and she didn’t know about the boxes, but offered me a souvenir drink satchel that hung around my neck. I took it, thinking it was just compensation for my troubles, but as I walked away, I realized it was meant to replace the value of the boxes. I didn’t want that deal! I went back to her to give it back but couldn’t find her again.
I wandered the park like a drunk, it seemed, without a clear plan or goal. My mind state felt like madness and short-term memory, the delirium of being very drunk. Eventually I realized I was walking around in my underwear (tall, unattractive tighty whities) and a white and green ring shirt (like my Tank shirt). I became embarrassed walking around like this, and imagined forth some people making comments. After a while I realized I had lost my shirt and my phone also.
I found Rebecca and the kids in the front row of this Star Wars show. I only spoke with Rebecca, who was more clear-headed. They were about ready to go, but I told them about my lost phone. We went to a steward, who took us in an elevator up to a store where everything for sale was organized by color. We stood by the hot pink items. The steward disappeared behind a door. I was only able to wait for eight seconds before I lost patience and wandered off on my own again.
I returned to the ride where you held your hands up high to control it. I had checked this one for my phone several times, but checking it meant riding it to another area. I accidentally went through the Rapunzel show area several times. It was like a stadium with many levels. Near the entrance was a Star Wars ride (no line!) that took people to the Star Wars area, which was I think just the Star Wars show. There was a big Nintendo area in the center, but you had to pay more money to get on the rides there. I tried one and was accused of stealing. I argued my case, then left the area.
I spent much of the dream in a panicked search for my missing things. I kept finding stewards and asking them, but kept coming up empty handed. One had found a scribbled note to Rebecca in the bathroom, with my name misspelled. The steward had laughed about the brief, weird message, but I concocted something meaningful out of it.
I found Rebecca and Holly again (I assumed Jamie was there in the crowd behind them). Eventually I was reunited with my phone. I almost lost it again minutes later when I set it down to rifle through a box for a free “treasure” that I saw ahead of me in a map in my head. The treasure was garbage, as usual. I almost picked up some pirate stickers, but upon opening the package, realized they were not great.
It was getting late and we were anxious about missing our flight back home at the end of the night (this was just a day trip). The place was very, very hard to escape from, a multi-level maze with endless passageways, rooms, and distractions. I kept asking for directions and being led seemingly closer to an exit, but ending up back inside. Very much a place to trap and “harvest” dreamers emotionally. I think we were close to an exit when I woke up.
Disappearing Gifts: Emotionally harvested again.
The idea of giving gifts in a place with big shows and rides is a clever one. Once we switch focus to a big show or ride, the gift thought forms fade away. But in this case, it wasn’t even necessary since I was in such a delirious state.
I don’t know why I was so keen to get the garbage treasures back. Perhaps because they were gifts from a big theme park experience. My lost phone eventually became a more realistic thing to obsess over finding. But notice that once I found it, a map appeared in my head with a new free treasure, and I almost lost it again. That kind of timing shows intent.
Structurally, this place was very, very hard to escape from, a multi-level maze with endless passageways, rooms, and distractions. I kept asking for directions and being led seemingly closer to an exit, but they each led back inside. Very much a place to trap and “harvest” dreamers emotionally.
I had a very similar dream three months later. I took a day trip to Disney World, was surprised to get an “exclusive gift” and promptly lost it while watching a show. I spent a long time trying to locate it.
Concocting Memories: There was no video game like this in physical life. And yet I remember Jamie’s correct age just two days after his birthday.
The Flight Back: This one is strange, because it’s 3:45 AM. I usually sleep until 7:30 or 8:00 AM, so there was actually plenty of time left. These 3-4 AM dreams are something different, and I wonder if it’s another level that I go to. Perhaps I needed to return to where I was previously by 4 AM.
Searching for Junk: Here I am searching for some junky souvenirs I didn’t really care about and not finding them. This could have been due to my drunken state, or simply due to the fact that I didn’t really care about them. Later when I lost my phone, it was important enough to find/recreate.
