Return to Colorado Volcanoes National Park★★★
October 6, 2025
Colorado Volcanoes National Park

I was on a week-long astral vacation visiting national parks in the West. Last night, we had made it back to Colorado Volcanoes National Park, one of my favorites. I was with a group of 4-5 people, including Jessie. We were traveling and sleeping in a camper. I knew the park got crowded, so I wanted to leave from our parking spot early enough to see the sunrise. But we ended up sleeping in and it was 2pm! We’d miss so much! I expressed my disappointment and then we set off (in the physical, it was probably around 7am).

We came to a dirt road among green trees a little ways up the volcano. There was a long line of abandoned cars parked, as if the wait was so long they’d just gotten out and left. There was plenty of room around them. A river crossed the road at an angle, and one car was parked in the river where it was less than a foot deep. Then the line of cars continued on this ridge a few feet up on the other side or the river. I had some interaction with the car in the water, such that I ended up accidentally moving it into deeper water where it was nearly submerged. I couldn’t manage to get it back to its original spot.

A little bit later, after stopping at a park building, we were on this bus tour of the park, touring the grassy plains at the base of the volcano. It took us through some ruins, which I didn’t know the park had, and I found them fascinating. Some of the buildings were multiple stories tall. The bus tour took us around, past a place where I had played in some beautiful clear pools on a previous visit. Jessie recognized it as well, and I realized we must have been here together before. I was itching to get off the bus and go explore these areas in person.

There was a baby involved somehow. I was letting it float out the window of the bus at some point, before realizing that this seemed irresponsible and bringing it in.

We returned to the national park building, to something like a gift shop. I told the others we should head up the mountain at some point where we could see the lava and I showed them a picture of it with my mind. The park building had seating like broad wood stairs, and we stopped there for a moment. For a snack? There was a room with dog-sized lizards running around, though I never actually saw them.

At some point we returned to the plains and explored the ruins and clear pools.

A Week-Long Trip: I’m in the middle of traveling with Jessie and some others on a week-long tour of astral national parks. I visited Colorado Volcanoes National Park almost exactly a year ago, and that was my second trip there. This time I’m touring some different areas at the base of the volcano, and Jessie and I both recall the clear pools from an earlier trip.

Sharing Images: All our memories are available to share as visual images or short videos.

Relative Time: Here I’m transposing my idea of time from dream time to physical time. In terms of my time dreaming, 7am is rather late to be setting out on an adventure. In the dream, it’s daytime, and the equivalent of setting out late is perceived as 2pm.
