Dream Journal

Context: I was on 8mg prednisone at the time of this experience.
I was watching a rehearsal / performance of a new musical. The name was well known in the dream, but I don’t recall it. The main character was named Hanibel. It had this 90s alternative vibe to it. As I watched, I sporadically sang along with Hanibel, an effusive stylish character that reminds me of the character singing the title song in Hazbin Hotel. The set was colorful but murky, as if undersea, with lots of blues and greens as a main theme. It felt somewhat piratey. After the initial scene and song, the story followed along a strange train on a track much of the time. All the characters got on and sang as we traveled. We arrived somewhere where there was a female lead character, again very 90s. The songs were excellent, the art direction was excellent, and singing along with Hanibel was so fun. I felt honored, like I was chosen to shadow that part.
After it was over, there was another rehearsal / performance where the original Hanibel stepped away and I did it on my own. I was rather nervous, at times knowing just what to do and at others making it up or getting tips from people. Though the idea of actually performing in front of an audience terrified me, I was just there for enjoyment. I told some other performers how excellent I thought the musical was.

Being in Musicals: I really enjoy good musicals. If it weren’t for my stage fright and poor memory, I’d probably really enjoy being in one. In the dream state I can!
