The Treehouse OBE★★★★
May 8th? @ 5:30 AM
The Near Realm

My recorded “your body is sleeping” message triggered this.

I found myself at my computer downstairs — a habitual place to be. I’ve been there before when I heard the message. I got up and started walking around. I walked into the living room. It was different, very empty. Did I want to see it? I was hesitant. I was living alone here. There was a big TV where there is one now, and another to the right. There was no couch. It was lit with morning light, though it’s still dark out physically. I walked through where the couch was in waking life, wondering if I’d feel any resistance, but there was none. More confident, I continued. It gets hazy. In the dining room (?) there was a table with some boxes. I decided to experiment. I hit a gray box with my hand and it made a little sound, then it tumbled to the floor. It seemed to forget to make a sound when it hit the floor, though.

And then one of the corners I turned connected to the Treehouse. I hesitated a moment, thinking it was in construction, but then with giddy excitement I decided to have a look around anyways. I was OB — it was fine. This time there was a spiral ramp leading up to the first floor. The floor was white with black speckles that stood up a little making it feel gritty. This led to a circular tiled room, but the floor wasn’t flat — it continued the spiral to the center then sloped down again. That just wouldn’t do, I thought. It’d be great for kids, grandkids maybe, who wanted to play with matchbox cars. But no furniture would fit there. This landing seemed pretty small compared to the shape of the Treehouse. Sometime around here, Jamie and Holly joined me, running around.

I believe the spiral ramp continued, and I went up to the next floor. Here I saw a worker or two. One I took to be the foreman. As he came in, he looked at me a moment, seemed not to believe his eyes, then moved on. He went to the other side of a ledge surrounding the spiral. On his side it sloped down in the opposite direction. I followed him a little bit and got his attention. He looked at me, disbelieving. He seemed stricken, as if seeing a ghost, but I gestured that I was sleeping. I reached out and touched him on the shoulder.

I continued up the ramp. It ended in a floor with a room-sized center circle that had doors leading off to rooms. It seemed to me that one of the rooms was meant to be the garage, as it was larger and if you continued the spiral, you’d end up in that room. To me the spiral had to be for cars, so I puzzled about how you’d have to drive through this central room to park. Another weird design choice. There were two small square tables in the central room. Maybe it was meant to be a dining area, but the tables didn’t fit well. At a later point the foreman joked about setting them up in a line, but you’d have to go around them through the closet to get anywhere. I stood and watched as someone constructed a . . . stairway or shower in front of me. It was dark wood, with lots of vertical beams. As I watched, he carefully lowered a horizontal beam into place at the foot of it.

I think I went down the spiral ramp again. More and more workers were arriving, and I greeted them. The morning light was increasing towards daylight. One worker thought I had noticed his lateness and made some smiling explanation.

I want to get Rebecca at one point, so I run down the ramp to get her. And just before I woke up, I was writing down the dream.

Near Realm Exploration: The recorded message awakens me in my astral body at my computer downstairs, where I spend most of my waking time. I explore a partially empty version of my house. Eventually I turn a corner to see the Treehouse that was created in yesterday’s dream, but it’s entirely different inside, and its in my current back yard rather than Blaine House’s back yard.

I would think the treehouse to be more astral, but the dim early morning light in the dream state grows brighter as physical morning dawns.

Continuing Construction: This time I get to the Treehouse by walking around in Hibernia House (my current house). The treehouse is entirely different inside, with a spiral design. Although it was finished yesterday, it’s under construction again. This time I see physical-style construction work taking place.

My Usual Place: I found myself dreaming while my astral body was at my computer downstairs, where I spend a lot of my waking time. This behavior is described in detail by Muldoon — see “Following Desires & Habits”.

But I wonder — my astral body would be my dream self, so why would it be following habitual waking self behavior? Perhaps my dream focus is in a further projection in the astral, in the manner of passing through gateways, while I left that me at the desk as the “foot in the door” — a habitual first projection point.

Missing Furniture: I was hesitant to explore, noting that “I was living alone here”. I wonder what that meant. Was this my own version of the Hibernia House near realm? Why wasn’t my family here? I did see them once I went to the Treehouse, likely at a more astral frequency.

The box fails to make a sound upon hitting the floor. It’s all projections and expectations, though. Perhaps I was distracted at that moment.

Workers Arriving: While I typically head back to my bed as morning approaches, here I see workers arriving at my house in the early morning. Perhaps that’s due to the thought that in the morning they head to work. Maybe they do this astral construction work mostly during the day while their waking mind is otherwise occupied.

The foreman is surprised to see me . . . why would that be? Maybe in my half-aware OBE state I appeared semi-transparent, as I had the other night.
