This dream tells a story first in one time, then a hundred years later and so on — across several genres.
Cutter is still leader. The elves use less and less magic, and then use guns. One elf is wounded by a gunshot while a young elf was trying to save an older one from a boar. There are many poisonous snakebites.
The next scene is the elves living in a 1400s-1600s type city, in a Renfest-like environment, or a less techno future. The elves are mingling with the people and having a big party behind some buildings. I see Joleen. She’s not the same looking. She has scuzzy guys hitting on her, and she likes it. I arrive and they leave. So we talk, and hang out a while. She changes shoes and holds her scantily-clad butt in the air till some guys start touching it. We leave on horseback to ride in these mountains. She implies that after we broke up, she’s “really been sleeping around,” and that now she realizes that she never really loved me. So I get incredibly sad and leave her stranded on the mountaintop.
There was a really killer spaceship scene, as well.

Moving Through Time: Dreams like this are likely a rote, telling a story through time.
I had this dream in 1993. Beginning in 1994, the Elfquest universe did something completely new — it jumped forward in time. There were stories told in times where guns had just been developed, and even a futuristic space series. Was I connecting with the authors, who at this time might have been planning these series?
