Dream Journal

Last night, after a great party with Rebecca and some friends, I dreamed:
Rebecca and I were in a lodge, at a rally. We would meet out of our bodies in the hall near a radiator and go on a date each night. A little exchange with my dream self and waking self let me know that most people dream from within their bodies in bed, and that we had left ours. Rebecca and I were semitransparent and glowed brightly. We looked at each other happily, and then I leaned back into the radiator and found myself elsewhere.
Rebecca and I were now two luminescent men with grayish golden hair. We had a small piece of mountain land with soft grass and a small, muddy-bottomed lake. The land was for running her horses. Earlier, there was a thunderstorm while we were at a larger horse-running land.
I felt strong emotion, accompanied by this cool spinning sensation within me, like strands of golden light. The spinning made me feel excited and unstable. I knew I had to report this and ran back to . . . somewhere and woke up.
References: Rallies are youth group gatherings put on by Unity Church.
Dream Wisdom: I’m in a rote of an OB meet-up — note that it has backstory. But the exchange with my dream self is my own, and validates my feeling that some dreams are in the body, and some are out of it.
Rote About OBEs: This rote comes with backstory: we “go on a date each night”. This sets the stage for the unusual experience that happens one night.
Rotes Within: I’m within the OBE rote (containing backstory), and then appear in the mountains. Our luminescent bodies carry over from the first to the second, along with the idea that it’s Rebecca and I.
In the rote, Rebecca and I inhabit the characters, so the story feels like it’s about us. In the second scene, the characters are both men, but one is Rebecca and one is me. Perhaps we are identifying with the characters without inhabiting them.
The transition is strange, but it’s either a rote or a gateway within the original rote.
Heading Back: I’m likely in my dream self or MetaDreamer focus, because my reaction to these sensations is to quickly return to my body and wake up.
Spinning Sensations: This spinning sensation is a feeling of getting too emotional or excited, and it can cause us to lose our focus.
