Dream Journal
July 8, 1996
I have been practicing seeing with my eyes closed, but I often forget when I wake up. I’ve been in dream classes, in training. I’m realizing that the dream self is me. I’m learning to recognize the shifts of consciousness. I will do this.
First attempt. . . . Release, release, don’t try. If I try to see, then I project an image. Relax, breathe, release. I felt REM coming and going. I found myself in Mario Land, because I was playing it today. I was seeing fantastic new boards, new integrations, new characters, the land bobbing up and down, and a high speed circling platform. I saw colors blazing, splitting into 3 layers. I felt hot and saw Mario fire wheels, too.
As I drift deeper, Mario World varies more and more and crosses into nearby styles. It becomes 3D and integrates more things into it. An egg bounces rapidly between 4 different panels, the viewpoint rapidly following the egg.
I must also mention as I fell asleep, I felt a weird sensation of being pulled out, like spacetime stretching, turning me inside out and trying to hurtle me forwards. It was pulling from my adrenal area near my belly and heart. It felt like perspectives changing, like the whole world was getting bigger or smaller in comparison to me.
Hypnagogic Clairvoyance: It’s tricky keeping attention focused during the hypnagogic stage. But it can be done.
Hypnagogic Experiences: This is one of the first hypnagogic recollections, and I realize that focus freezes the flow, stops the progression into release and deeper states. As the relaxation progresses, more and more is drawn into the chosen focal point — Mario World.
Separation Sensations: These are sensations from the etheric/astral separation, something I rarely experience consciously.
