The Navajo Highway
January 22, 2023 @ 2 AM

I dream I’m a Navajo being chased by a huge group of people. I run down this hill, around towering mesas and then into a valley where I hide behind a river’s edge. As they approach, I get into the river. Some older women come right up to the water’s edge and I go under a ledge with barely any breathing room, my face up against the rock and water. I think they’re also Native Americans but dressed in traditional American clothing. I tell the two women I plan to build the Navajo Highway here, a route that will benefit all tribes, and they agree not to reveal me. After a while they leave. It’s night when I surface. The stars are incredible. I see an intense meteor shower that soon grow to sets of 4 meteors coming down in overlapping groups like cat scratches up in the sky. I get out my phone and take a video of them, then get distracted in strange video viewing apps.

Then I’m in a house and my mom is upstairs. It’s still night. I don’t want her to see me (the Navajo Highway thing). So I press my face up against the bottom of the stairs so she doesn’t see me (difficulty breathing again).

Two Dreams, One Reality: There’s a shared reality behind these two dreams — hiding from a woman/women, from a perspective below them, and having difficulty breathing due to having a small breathing space where I’m hiding.
