Weed Beer★★★
February 17, 2023 @ 2:30 AM

I’m at a bar in a city with three friends, including Rebecca and a guy I took to be Lucas. The bar has tall ceilings, mostly concrete, and black railings. We’re the only ones in the small front area. We sit at a table and look at the drink menus. They’re large, with pictures of the drinks next to their names. I’m drawn to two tan/orange beers. The waiter comes and when it’s my turn I ask his opinion. He starts talking and mentions the weed beer but he’s talking too fast and he gets self-conscious and says he said too much, that was just information for those in the back. Then he walks away and I’m not sure if he took an order for me or not.

I go into the back — to check my order? I don’t recall getting or drinking the weed beer. But as I arrive in the back, I find myself high/tripping/drunk in this wild psychedelic state. Everything has taken on this green tinge with bursts of orange and pink appearing in the upper part of my vision. I’m super focused in the now and feel like I’m melting into everything. There are a lot more people back here. I meet a woman’s eyes and she says something like “nice hat” and I felt that I could have just stood there and melted into a deep connection with her — with anyone back there, but I was heading back to my group in the front. I made some joke about how the hanging lights back here looked like Tibetan hats and how the Tibetans would be missing them, but continued walking and came back around to the front of the bar. I saw my companions in a blissed-out state, apparently also under the effect of the weed beer. Rebecca was leaning over against Lucas, who was now shirtless, and was similarly slumped to the side. As I watched, there was some brushing of hands against each other, and I was kind of okay but kind of jealous. As I watched, Rebecca turned her head, brushing her lips across his side. I knew she probably wasn’t aware what was going on, maybe thought it was me, but imagined it continuing in this direction.

Another look back and instead of being on a couch, they’re both in a cardboard box, and I reach down and lift Lucas up out of the box. Something about this brings my consciousness back to my body in bed. I was lying there, thinking about what had just happened, still totally feeling like I was in this psychedelic state. I was amazed at how much of an intense, wild state of mind I could be in while dreaming. I wrestled with going back into the dream or writing it down and obviously decided to write it down. Afterward, I tried to return to the dream, but couldn’t.

Weed Beer: In dreams, dramatic psychedelic changes in consciousness are usually triggered by contact with a certain substance or being in a certain environment. In this case, we weren’t effected until I went into the back, and then it seemed to be affecting everyone, even those in the front.

When I refocused in the physical, I brought that psychedelic state of mind with me.
