Dream Journal

Rebecca, who does not like rats, was dreaming that she was holding a rat in her hand, much in the way one holds a burrito. It was her first memory of the dream, so she doesn’t know how she got it. The rat was alive, but not struggling. She was presented with the conundrum of what to do when you find yourself with a rat in your hand. She was so flummoxed that she “woke up” in our bed. She was still dreaming, however.
She stretched her arm out and grabbed something on the night stand. It was a rat! So once again, she had a rat in her hand. She turned to me and asked me what to do. I got out of bed, took the rat, and went to fill up the tub. Her understanding was that I was going to drown the rat (I would never! I’ve even had pet rats in the past).
Wake Up!: The strangeness of the situation caused her to wake up into the near realm.
So I Still Have a Rat: This is fascinating! The rat thought form in her hand continues through the false awakening. Her stretching and grabbing something from the night table was a way to explain the sensation of the rat still being there.
She is fulfilling the sensation of the thought form in her hand from her dream just before the false awakening!
Ask the Rat Man: She likely awoke to the near realm so she could get help with the rat-in-her-hand situation. I can’t explain my uncharacteristic behavior here. Maybe I was going to give the rat a bath?
