Dream Journal

There’s this wooded valley somewhere in the east US, with a river running through it, and a little town at the intersection of two roads. Vitrue is moving to a new location around here. We take a road on the near ridge up to an abandoned building. It may have been a contender for the new location. It was filled with bees! There were some transient-seeming people living there, too. Somehow we lured the bees out of the building and down the road. Then it was only orange wasps that were left. I remember investigating the back of it, and wondering if it would be suitable for Vitrue. The others with me showed me how there was an asbestos exhaust flowing straight into the back room, and eventually we gave up on it.
Vitrue was eventually built across the river in a new complex, and a road was built going underneath the river leading to it. It was new and modern. I went inside and saw people picking out their desks. I wanted to be near my team, but places were filling up, so I got one a little further off. I had two boxes of things — one with work-related things, and another with personal things for work, such as decor, headphones, and CDs. Once I had been basically set up, I left.
So I’m driving along the road towards the little town and get an invite from Joleen to hang out. I think, sure, why not, and now we’re traveling together in the car. Part of hanging out is returning to the time when we were together to a degree and so we hold hands. She’s telling me about this particularly awful boyfriend she had who messed with her head and beat her. I put on the CD I was listening to earlier. Eventually we’re walking around the town center, and then I decide it’s time to get back, so she begins to lead me back, but then takes me down these unfamiliar roads to this ramshackle house. It’s black and white and has a wide front porch. She leads me down a dirt driveway strewn with toys and various things, and then up this side stairway to an entrance. We go in and it’s this messy, worn, nasty place with dim light. She reveals that this is the home of that awful guy!
She goes down this stairway into this darker basement area, and there he is. She very quickly falls into her old role as his girlfriend, and he’s being cruel to her. I get angry and this long thing begins where he is getting into my things (I have two pieces of luggage for the move to the new Vitrue location). He’s wearing my clothes, and taking my things and putting them into his house. Before long, his brother shows up, and his mom, too. His brother joins in, and very soon all my stuff is either being worn by them or scattered about their house. I run around trying to gather it all up, but whenever I’m away from my suitcases, they are there, taking something else. It becomes extremely frustrating. My entire goal becomes just to get my stuff packed up and leave, but they’re making it impossible to accomplish.
It escalates. Their young sister, father, a baby, and dog arrive, and people from my side arrive as well — Finnegan, Rox, and others. Finally I’ve had enough, and decide to kill the nasty boys. I go to each in turn and rip their heads off. Their bodies melt away leaving just a balloon-like head that falls to the floor. I chase the mother out, take the baby, and boil it in water, then put it down the garbage disposal, to Rox’s horror. This means I’ve won and the nasty family has decided to relinquish their house to us. There are two big tables on the front porch now and we’re going through every item in the house and deciding who’s it is, and I finally am able to refill my suitcases with things, but there’s also new boxes of stuff that I didn’t remember having before. As a last resort, the nasty family calls on some wizards and mythical creatures to fight us, and we call on a glowing pink scorpion and an earth wizard. We eventually win the battle and chase them all away.
The house is ours now and I feel we have to move in, but I don’t want to because it’s horrible. I walk around the house and think that we’ll have to replace the carpet, the walls, everything. I hate it there. I know if we move in, the old occupants will still come by from time to time, which I’m not interested in. I just want to live in our existing home.
References: Vitrue is where I was working at the time.
Bees and Wasps: Notice how I can’t escape the sound by leading the bees away — when I return, it’s re-rationalized as wasps.
Similar Situation, Similar Behavior: Joleen and I fall into a weak version of our old relationship. The intention was for her to take me back, but as she’s focused on her awful boyfriend, she takes me to his place instead, probably unintentionally. When she sees him, she falls into the victim role. Without attention, we travel down familiar paths.
I wonder if talking about it pulled me into a rote of the memory. . . .
Separated Thought-Form Head: The head is apparently the source of the thought form. I wouldn’t have thought it possible to tear someone’s head off.
Fed Up: Wow, I was really pissed! How horrible!
Thought-Form Battle: A last-ditch effort to beat us fails when we create stronger thought forms.
