I’m a young warrior undercover with some older thieves and brigands. We enter a cavernous hall slightly underground in the forest. There is a hot furnace off to the right, and a wall of strange writings straight ahead. Some of them are kicking and bouncing these rough bubbly thick foam balls at the wall. They’re very light, like a cross between bubbles and beach-balls. Each time one hits the wall, it leaves an inexplicable, strange-looking white circle or symbols, then bounces back smaller. Soon they run out, so one guy goes into the forge and collects some bubbling metal in a blow pipe. He emerges, holds the pipe to his lips, and blows. A glowing hot bubble clump starts to emerge from the far end of the pipe.
The brigand I’ve been following takes me to the other side of the building, and does something else. Just then, I see the new extremely hot purple bubble bouncing into the room. It hits the ceiling, then comes at me and hits my face. I let out a yell, and someone runs over and tears it away, along with my two golden armor head pieces. I am unharmed. I take my armor back.
I turn and see my undercover compatriot standing in the raised doorway. (VERSION 1:) He sets an arrow and fires it at the floor near a brigand. Then to me he says “Come up and help me finish off these foul darklings!” I say “No, I’m starting to like these guys!” Then I run off with him. (VERSION 2:) I see my compatriot in the doorway. He beckons to me, and we sneak hastily out. (Both versions merge back together at this point).
We run out of the forest, and soon enter a field. We come to a 15-foot wall made of dried mud bricks, with a scaffolding of bamboo on the near side. We climb up and over. We’re hanging from the top on the far side when I look down. There’s a muddy river at the bottom of the wall with a flimsy walkway getting jerked around by the current, about eight crocodiles, and no way back up. [There are continued various betrayals and fighting and war and destruction, through which I did fine.]
Astral Matter Forge: This is so cool — the brigands’ forge has poured energy into and melted down the astral matter. Any strong source of heat or light can work for this purpose. So here they have developed a game with it.
Multiple Plot Lines: I don’t remember the order of the replays here, but I think I “rewrote” the version where my companion wanted to kill the brigands.
