Waiting for Joshua★★★★
March 10, 2004 @ 1:30AM
The Atlanta Tower and College

Awake: After writing with Joshua and sharing music, I go to sleep at midnight. I dream the following over the next hour:

In my dreams I go to visit him and make brief contact several times. We prepare to go out adventuring but he’s busy in his semi-dark apartment (which isn’t accurate to waking life). I make contact, then drop, then make contact, then drop. I get bored and wait in my universal dream space, the school between the worlds (the Atlanta Tower). It’s dark there. The building at the top of the elevator is like a hotel. It’s several stories tall and domed at the top, with a theater. It’s directly above the physical world. I wander into a familiar gift shop nearby. There are several racks of piano music. There are some unfamiliar songs I decide to try while I wait. There’s something by Amy Grant maybe? Also something a little cooler by someone like Sheryl Crow. The rest are unfamiliar. One isn’t even sheet music. Then I spot the pricing guide.

Sheet music prices

I’m disappointed to find they’re not free. They’re under a half-circle. This has all happened before. I’m waiting for Joshua to go to sleep so we can visit in dreams.

I should note that the library hotel would meld into the environment anywhere when I wanted to go back.

Meeting the Waking: This is simply amazing! Here I’m trying to make dream contact with someone who hasn’t gone to sleep yet. I’m making brief contact with him but since he’s still awake the contact can’t be sustained and keeps dropping, so I’m killing time in the dream world waiting for him to go to sleep so we can meet up in our dream bodies!

Difficulty Connecting: I’ve been able to communicate with waking people in the past, but Joshua must have been pretty preoccupied with something else.

Upon failing to make contact, my Dream Self knows to wait around for Joshua to go to sleep before I’ll be able to reach him.

Waiting in the Staging Area: I consider this “between the worlds”. It’s a launching point for dreams and travels. It has a feel to it, and I feel it beyond the forms. It’s connected to the Atlanta Tower in this case.

I don’t recall taking the elevator here, as I do sometimes. I just go directly there.

Waiting Area: Unable to reach Joshua because he’s likely awake, I hang out in the city area near the Atlanta Tower.
