The Red Motorcycle★★
May 21, 2003

It’s daylight, and I’m hanging out in a parking lot with a row of trees near a beach. Some of the soccer guys are there. I remember there was a brief confusion thinking Jeremy and Martin were also Ween. I had a red motorcycle and a car. I was about to leave the motorcycle on the kickstand and go to the beach but someone pointed out that it could get stolen. So I picked it up (it seemed to weight less than a pound), and put it in the car. Then there may have been a waking distraction, a jolt, and I’m back in the dream.

Now it’s just me in the parking lot. I see a truck/SUV leaving with two red motorcycles wrapped up in cloth in the back. I run over and grab them (they weigh almost nothing). I run back to my car to put them in but then see my red motorcycle in there. Realizing my mistake I signal the truck/SUV and run back with the motorcycles. The driver is this grizzly man who says “You scrubby fucking. . . . ” I cut him off, saying “Wait, wait, let me explain . . . ” but I dissociate from myself. Looking down from above I think I sound like an idiot as I explain myself and then I actually become more idiotic as a result.

References: Ween is a band.

Dissociation: I jump out to avoid a tough situation, and feel this has an affect on the character’s explanation.

Mistaken Identity: Two brothers from my soccer team here are mistaken for two brotherly male musicians. An easy substitution.
