The Recurring Burning House★
Childhood
Childhood
Blaine House
I dreamed of my house burning down and the frantic search to save the comics and stories I’d written, and then maybe my family. This was a frequently recurring dream in my childhood.
Anxiety: I’m not sure why this dream troubled me so often as a kid. The cause may have been an attempted arson of our new house when my dad was building it. Another time, there was a small fire over a couple acres in the woods next to my house. It never reached more than a foot high. But neither of these events ever troubled me when awake. Yet a fear of fire unwittingly made it a reality in my dreams. The dream ceased when I made copies of all my drawings and stories and comics and gave them to a friend for safekeeping.
