Dream Journal

I’m walking in “my neighborhood” and see a strange creature. It’s 8 feet tall, covered with black fur, and roughly human in shape. It has a small creature, possibly a baby, in its arms. I go up to it and cling to its leg. I want to know it. Its eyes are like ours, but the center lacks a pupil and is instead shaded from the top. I find her beautiful and open. Her name is Uma B-something, like Boga. I try to be her friend. She can roll her eyes back in her head and human ones appear. Before long she has clothes and her hair is less long and more like human hair. I am so fascinated. I invite her to hang out at my house. She won’t, so I walk with her. We go to a mall. She has a book of drawings. They’re really impressive — incredible depth, accuracy, and an odd style. More and more she uses her human eyes. There is a love growing between us — a free, warm flow. How could this be? I’ve just met her.
Was it earlier? We were walking through a hospital and they tried to drug her and make her more human. I fought it but she didn’t, so I stopped. It was near lunch at the mall. I told her I had to meet my girlfriend Rebecca for lunch. She was terrified. Somehow this meant betrayal to her.
As we left the mall, it was night and there were police officers scattered all throughout the parking lots shooting at animals. Our vehicle passed in front of a cop with a machine gun and it frightened me. We entered the highway and I retreated high out of my body into the air. The highway and the space around it rippled and shifted. I asked her to take the wheel. Was it Rebecca at this point? I awake.
What Is It: I have no idea what other sort of things could live in the astral. This was clearly a positive entity of some sort.
Jumping Out: I’ve found myself dealing with stressful situations in dreams several times by jumping quickly out of my dream body. This seems to be an instantaneous fear reaction of sorts. This doesn’t necessarily indicate that I’m in a rote, but retreating high into the air seems like I’m exiting one.
