The Magua Discol★★★
June 23, 1998

Context: I had quit Definition 6 the week before.

So I decide to check out how Definition 6 is doing. I’m there and it’s abustle with new people. There’s a big empty hole where my desk was. I’m talking with Jeremy about people’s reactions to my leaving. I said, “So no one even said anything?” He said “No. I was here the other day and no one said a word.” The morning meeting was commencing and Meagan walked by. I said “Hey”. Everyone was lining up at the back entrance and Mike came down the middle with someone, wedding-style, to symbolize the wedding of their company with a new one. They had also decided to combine their names. I just wanted to leave so I slipped out among the others.

Outside everyone was turning around to see their new sign. In yellow and white with an edge of blue lightbulbs was “THE MAGUA DISCOL.” I let out a laugh. “Disco-L? Just put a few more nails in their coffin,” I thought as I awoke.

Reading: At the time I found it strange that I could clearly see the letters and read it without it changing. Now I realize it’s because it doesn’t mean anything. If it meant something it would have started changing.

Checking In: After quitting my job a week earlier, I went to check in and see how they were doing.
