Dream Journal

I was up till 3 AM. Upon going to bed, my breathing began short and deep and each breath lengthened into the long, deep breathing of sleep. Here’s what I noticed:
* Stage 1: Continuation of Activity: Whatever you were most engaged in before bed continues to be the topic of thought. In this case, it was working on the Personality Forge.
* Stage 2: Fears: Fears of every kind enter my mind as I try to relax; intruders in the house, fire breaking out, and entire fantasies associated with each.
* Stage 3: Desires: Sexual desires and fantasies. The threshold to move the body becomes higher. Getting up the energy to shift position is about the best you can do — small movements are very difficult.
* Stage 4: Led Into Dreams: Very interesting thoughts. Desires to run into exciting scenes leads one’s attention into dreams.

Quieting of the Mind: The mind becomes charged up by the day’s activities and to reach the relaxed state of meditation or sleep, one must pass through the fading lights of what the mind was most recently focused on, followed by the more intense body-based emotions, before one can just let go and follow a more personal or social interest into a dream.
