Dream Journal
June 1, 1997
I was crossing a bridge to get to San Francisco. I was traveling alone, without Rebecca. Once there, I went to a movie. It was Blood Murder 3 or some nastiness with cops & mass murderers. Disgusted, I left to go to a different movie and found that there was a massive rainstorm or hurricane going on. I tried to take cover in other theaters. I found that in one the chairs were desk chairs. Others had old Apple computers in them, and old people staring at a huge screen.
Soon the storm passed and I went outside. It was summery and nice out. As I walked back toward the bridge, I was followed and harassed by a group of young hoodlums (age 7-13). I tried to reason with them and not fight but they were all hate. All these police swarmed in and I ran. I ran right past Dan and gramma which I thought was funny because I think they were there to see me and I didn’t want to see them.
So I got to the bridge and crossed but it brought me to this whole other place — a beach with palm trees. It was warm and Rebecca was with me. We ran to see Joshua and Caroline who were up ahead, waving. I followed a few seconds later and found that Rebecca had thrown Joshua in the river because he accidentally got into this position which corresponded to a judo move she knew. We all laughed.
[I went to a concert which became a comedy sketch and became one of the guys who I was most interested in.]
Visiting Our New Home: After graduation, Rebecca and I moved to Berkeley, near San Francisco. This dream probably took place on our week long cross-country road trip to get there.
Bridge Crossing: Instead of traveling across the whole country, the bridge brought me directly to San Francisco. Returning to it and crossing again, I ended up somewhere else entirely. Interestingly, the mood is very different. I go from being pursued and harassed to a happy scene with good friends.
