The Haunted Ride★★
October 24, 1996

Several times this morning, while sleeping in, I found myself looking out at the room around me, in a kind of tunnel vision, not entirely focused. Then I’d get very excited and wonder if my eyes were open. They weren’t! I saw Gandalf as a kitten.

Dreams: I’m in a haunted house ride. I think Rebecca is with me. It’s a miniature haunted house and boring at first, but then the car seems to plunge off the track through this door in the floor into this super nasty haunted house! It has all the keen effects of dreamland, fuzzy visually blurred places and mysterious shades. Mirrors up ahead on either side of the hall are reflecting hideous pictures of us back. Then it dumped me/us into this grocery store. . . .

References: Gandalf was Rebecca's cat when she was younger.

Astral Sight: The lack of visual clarity in this one may have been an expectation, since at this time I wore contacts and an unfocused view is usually what I see upon waking up.

Evil Mirrors: Here’s an instance of mirrors reflecting lies.

The Real Haunted House: The ride turns much darker and scarier once we plunge through the floor into the basement level.
