The Building Blocks of Reality
The Source is consciousness, and everything is made out of the Source. Therefore everything is created out of consciousness.
Consciousness formed matter. . . . Each atom and molecule has its own consciousness. Consciousness and matter and energy are one, but consciousness initiates the transformation of energy into matter. . . . The universe emerged into actuality in the same way, but to a different degree, that any idea emerges from what you think of as subjectivity into physical expression. Consciousness Units (CUs)
The foundation of reality is consciousness; unpredictable, self-organizing, aware, and unbounded by time and space.
Consciousness Units (CUs) exist at a level of reality very close to the Source, entirely outside the physical universe, but also acting as the foundation for the physical universe and taking their places in it. They enjoy free, unlimited movement through all physical dimensions, including time and probable realities.
CUs are the foundational manifestation of the Source and inherit all its qualities. All things are made of them, and they remain within all things. They share their own inherented qualities with all things they transform into.
It is likely there is only one CU acting as many, branching into many, through each’s own individual history (memory) but also directly linked through their shared beingness. This foundation defines the organizing force within all life. The shared higher consciousness has a vast intelligence and that higher organization is available to all.
There are units of consciousness. . . . I do not want you to think of these units as particles. There is a basic unit of consciousness that, expressed, will not be broken down. . . . It contains within itself innately infinite properties of expansion, development, and organization; yet within itself always maintains the kernel of its own individuality. Despite whatever organizations it becomes part of, or how it mixes with other such basic units, its own identity is not annihilated.
It is aware energy. . . . It is therefore the source of all other kinds of consciousness, and the varieties of its activity are infinite. It combines with others of its kind. . . .
These units can indeed appear in several places at once, and without going through space, in your terms. Literally now, these basic units of consciousness can be in all places at once. They are in all places at once. They will not be recognized because they will always appear as something else.
Of course they move faster than light. There are millions of them in one atom—many millions. Each of these units is aware of the reality of all others, and influences all others. In your terms these units can move forward or backward in time, but they can also move into thresholds of time with which you are not familiar.
These units of consciousness . . . possess their own “inclinations,” leanings, propensities. . . .
All psychological structures then are composed of such organizations. . . . They are innately endowed with the desire or propensity for growth and creative organization. . . . Since these units of consciousness exist at once, they are aware of all the organized self-structures of which they are a part. To this extent, all probable realities are connected in that basic manner. . . .
All matter is based upon the units mentioned, with their unpredictability and their propensity for exploring all probabilities. (Roberts 39-41)
The CU’s, or units of consciousness are literally in every place and time at once. They possess the greatest adaptability, and profound “inborn” propensity for organization of all kinds. They act as individuals, and yet each carries within it a knowledge of all other kinds of activity that is happening in any other given unit or group of units. . . .

Each such invisible particle contains within itself the potential to embark upon an infinite number of probable variations of consciousness. . . .
Now you are composed of such invisible particles, and so is everything else that you can physically perceive. To that degree . . . portions of your own consciousness are everywhere at once. They are not lost, or spread out in some generalized fashion, but acutely responsive, and as highly alert as your familiar consciousness is now.

The Flow Through CUs
There is the constant surge into your universe of new energy through infinite minute sources. The sources are the CU’s themselves. In certain respects at least the CU’s operate as minute but extremely potent black holes and white holes. . . .

These foundational CUs which are so small that “there are millions of them in one atom” produce a “constant surge into your universe of new energy”. This brings to mind the torus — a foundational element that produces a flow. see “The Torus” in physical-multiverse.php.
The Frequency Domains of Consciousness
Let’s take a closer look at the flow coming from the Source. That flow is the microgeny, which in every tiniest moment recreates and thus sustains everything that exists.
Everything begins from the Source. From the unchanging, timeless Source, time is created. The Source begins its flow into time at near infinite frequency, with tremendous power, moving into progressively slower, denser frequencies, losing power, causing relatively more long-lasting forms, or vortexes in the flow.
This spiritual flow of consciousness creates bands of light and darkness known as frequency domains. These frequency domains are progressively slowing frequencies of consciousness. Each frequency domain is the result of the faster one preceding it in the microgeny. The higher the frequency, the closer to the Source, the brighter the light, the more unified the consciousness, the more full the feeling of love and oneness.
The physical universe exists as a result of this higher-dimensional spectrum of consciousness, which permeates it at every point in its own physical space and time. It is “downstream” of these higher frequencies, the relatively slow and unchanging shore of a powerful inner flowing sea of energy.
These frequency domains are given many names by those who are able to perceive and explore them. Most commonly, they are referred to as planes, realms, spheres, or worlds. I tend to prefer the term “plane”, referring to “planes of consciousness”, while “frequency domain” describes more accurately what it is.
There are major planes of consciousness and subplanes. The plane closest to the physical is known as the “astral”.
The frequency domains interpenetrate each other at all points. A higher plane is a higher frequency plane. It exists in the exact same place spatially. Ascending to a higher plane is ascending in frequency to a higher frequency of consciousness, and requires no movement at all.
These different realms of nature are frequently spoken of as planes, because in our study it is sometimes convenient to image them as one above another, according to the different degrees of density of the matter of which they are composed. . . . This arrangement is merely adopted for convenience. . . .
They must . . . be imagined as . . . filling the same space and interpenetrating one another. . . . Every physical atom is floating in an astral sea—a sea of astral matter which surrounds it and fills every interstice in this physical matter. The Slowing Flow of Reality
Reality Flows from Within
The infinitely high frequency conscious energy flowing from the Source progressively slows down its frequency until it ends up in one of many slow-moving, dense, physical universes, the outer 3-dimensional crust of reality. The physical universe is the end-product or result of that cascading flow from the higher-dimensional inner reality.
Swedenborg also believed that . . . heaven is actually a more fundamental level of reality than our own physical world. It is, he said, the archetypal source from which all earthly forms originate. . . . He too believed . . . that the material world is just a frozen version of the thought-built reality of heaven. . . .
[The Persian Sufis] held that [the other realm] was a plane of existence created by the imagination of many people, and yet one that still had its own corporeality and dimension, its own forests, mountains, and even cities. . . .
The Sufis believed that the afterlife realm is the generative matrix that gives birth to the entire physical universe. . . . By meditating and venturing deep into the psyche one arrived in an inner world that “turns out to envelop, surround, or contain that which at first was outer and visible.”

Diminishing Intensity of the Flow
The higher the frequency, the closer to the Source, and thus the stronger, brighter, and clearer the flow. Those who remember their journeys there say that each plane closer to the Source is infinitely greater than the last.
According to Leadbeater & Besant, the names of the first few planes above the physical in order of rising frequency are the astral, mental, and buddhic.

Frequency Domains and the Nature of Matter
The Source’s near-infinite frequency of consciousness progressively flows into slower densities (becoming more entangled in time). As it does, it pools into different “frequency domains”, divided by voids of consciousness. For example, if we imagine the frequency of the Source as frequency 100, then 99-91 would be one frequency domain, 90 would be a void, then 89-81 another frequency domain followed by 80 as a void, and so on. Each frequency domain has a distinct reality.

Veiling of the Source in Matter
The frequency domains (planes of consciousness) act as “veils” which temporarily clothe the one Source in various forms. This veiling allows the Source (or anything at a higher-frequency) to be perceived by the senses on lower frequency domains. The light is diminished to the degree that it is veiled in denser matter.
As the flow enters into each progressively slower frequency domain, it pulls around itself the slower matter of that plane, essentially creating a “body” on that plane. This creates some degree of individuality and allows sensation and communication on that plane. As the Source slows, each “body” it takes wraps around the previous ones, so that the densest (slowest) is always on the outside, with the original unchanging Source still at its center.

The veil of darkness refers to the voids between frequency domains, which define them as relatively separate domains. More on that to come.
Leadbeater uses the term “spirit” as that which flows from the Source.
When spirit resting on any plane (it matters not which), on its path downward into matter, is driven by the resistless force of its own evolution to pass onward to the plane next below, it must, in order to manifest itself there, enfold itself in at least the atomic matter of that lower plane—draw round itself as a body a veil of that matter, to which it will act as soul or energizing force. Similarly, when it continues its descent to a third plane, it must draw round itself some of its matter, and we shall have then an entity whose body or outer covering consists of the atomic matter of that third plane. . . .
By the time the original force reaches our physical level it is so thoroughly veiled that it is small wonder that men often fail to recognize it as spirit at all. (Leadbeater 115-116)

My own term for the formless light of consciousness is the Pure Essence.
This is the boundary between the formless Pure Essence and the world of forms. The Pure Essence is clothed in forms as it descends into thicker, slower mediums of matter, like air blown into the soapy film of a bubble wand. It takes its form out of the medium itself.
The undifferentiated Pure Essence takes a layer of form in each denser spiritual realm it comes into. Each layer slows down the form, making it more hard and unchanging. The progressively slower spiritual planes are planes of limitation applied to the infinite, eternal, unchanging Pure Essence.
The Pure Essence itself remains without any boundary in space or time, only those defined by its many layers of coverings.

Thresholds of Matter and the Velocity of Light
In each progressive frequency domain, “matter” is created when higher-frequency energy slows down to its specific velocity of light.
In our physical universe, the speed of light in a vacuum is a constant: 299,792,458 meters per second. Each frequency domain above the physical has its own progressively faster speed of light, and contains matter that we cannot perceive when focused in the physical.
There are spectrums of light. So are there spectrums of matter. (Roberts 234)
There are many gradations of matter, or form, that you do not perceive. . . . Many of these particles making up such constructions do move faster that the speed of your light. . . .
[Your scientists] can only investigate light as it intrudes into the three-dimensional system. The same applies to a study of the structure of matter or form.
There are indeed universes composed of such faster-than-light particles. Some of these in your terms share the same space as your own universe. You simply would not perceive such particles as mass. When these particles are slowed down sufficiently, you do experience them as matter.
Some of these particles drastically alter their velocity, appearing sometimes at your slower rate, usually in cyclic fashion. The inner vortex of some such particles has a much greater velocity than the orbiting portions. . . .
Now in certain dreams and out-of-body experiences, your own consciousness moves faster than the speed of light, and under such conditions you are able to perceive some of these other forms of “mass or matter.” . . .

Look at any table in the room before you. It is physical, solid, and you perceive it easily. Now for an analogy, imagine if you can that behind the table is another just like it, but not quite as physical, and behind that one another, and another behind that—each one more difficult to perceive, fading into invisibility. . . .
Anything that appears in physical terms also exists in other terms that you do not perceive. You only perceive realities when they achieve a certain “pitch,” NOTE: frequency when they seem to coalesce into matter. But they actually exist, and quite validly at other levels.
There are also realities that are “relatively more valid” than your own . . . your physical table would appear as shadowy in contrast. . . . Yours is not a system of reality formed by the most intense concentration of energy, therefore. It is simply the one you are turned into NOTE: tuned into, part and parcel of. . . .
Other portions of yourself NOTE: the astral self, for example, therefore, of which you are not consciously aware, do inhabit what you could call a supersystem of reality in which consciousness learns to handle and perceive much stronger concentrations of energy, and to construct “forms” of a different nature. . . .
[Space] is obviously filled with all kinds of phenomena, that make no impression at all on your perceptive mechanisms. Now in various ways and on occasion, you can tune into these other realities to some degree—and you do so spasmodically, though in many cases the experience is lost because it does not register physically. Seth is describing frequency domains of consciousness. The higher energy levels are faster frequencies of consciousness (and light). Our perceptions and experiences at higher frequencies are more real, because we are seeing a broader, fuller, brighter context of reality. Our consciousness recognizes that it is more awake and expansive than in the slower frequencies.
My own experiences fit. As my awareness comes more fully into the moment, my consciousness speeds up relative to physical time, closer to the moment point, and from this vantage, I perceive more of reality; I pick up on more subtle things.

Seth says that since we focus on a particular code system NOTE: frequency domain defined by our velocity of light, other systems can exist in the same space, and we would not be aware of their particular masses since our normal senses would not detect them. Realities are not separated by space . . . but by the velocity of light. . . .

This is how something can move into and out of frequency domains.
Wave/Particle Nature
CU’s can also operate as “particles” or as “waves.” . . . When CU’s operate as particles, in your terms, they build up a continuity in time. They take on the characteristics of particularity. They identify themselves by the establishment of specific boundaries.
They take certain forms, then, when they operate as particles, and experience their reality from “the center of” those forms. . . . They become in your terms individual.
When CU’s operate as waves, however, they do not set up any boundaries about their own self-awareness—and when operating as waves CU’s can indeed be in more than one place at one time. . . .
In its purest form a unit of consciousness can be in all places at the same time. It becomes beside the point, then, to say that when it operates as a wave a unit of consciousness is precognitive, or clairvoyant, since it has the capacity to be in all places and all times simultaneously. The CU moves from a wave in a higher frequency domain to a particle in the lower, thus becoming matter at that level.
They end up a step more “individual” because they have entered a slower frequency domain, and as such begin there as a new “self” with a new empty memory.
Particles Riding upon Waves
Each “particleized” unit, however, rides the continual thrust set up by fields of consciousness, in which wave and particle both belong. Each particleized unit of consciousness contains within it inherently the knowledge of all other such particles—for at other levels, again, the units are operating as waves. Basically the units move faster than light, slowing down, in your terms, to form matter. These units can be considered, again, as entities or as forces, and they can operate as either. Metaphysically, they can be thought of as the point at which All That Is acts to form [your] world—the immediate contact of a never-ending creative inspiration, coming into mental focus. Matter does not exist independently from the sea, from so-called empty space. It is a part of space. To explain what he means, Bohm offers the following analogy: A crystal cooled to absolute zero will allow a stream of electrons to pass through it without scattering them. If the temperature is raised, various flaws in the crystal will lose their transparency, so to speak, and begin to scatter electrons. From an electron’s point of view, such flaws would appear as pieces of “matter” floating in a sea of nothingness, but this is not really the case. The nothingness and the pieces of matter do not exist independently from one another. They are both part of the same fabric, the deeper order of the crystal. Thoughts Are Objects in Higher Frequency Domains
The foundation of reality is consciousness. Consciousness is at all times creating by giving off emanations according to its focus. Consciousness in all forms creates what Seth calls “EE units”, which stands for “electromagnetic energy” units.
EE units are formed spontaneously from the electromagnetic reality of feelings emitted from each consciousness, as, for example, breath automatically goes out from the physical body.
EE units are, then, emanations from consciousness. The intensity of the thought or emotion determines the characteristics of the units themselves. (Roberts 303-305)SSchanneled • modern • Seth
Structures in higher frequency domains, where the speed of light is faster, could be called superluminal structures. But they are more well known as “thought forms” since they spring into being as a result of movements of consciousness — our thoughts and emotions. In the coming books, we will go deeply into these forms on higher planes of consciousness and show how reality operates differently there.
One of the defining characteristics of the physical universe is that, unlike the rest of reality, thoughts do NOT instantly take form here. The material is so slow and dense that it takes a long time.
Subjectively, you will think of your own thoughts as waves rather than as particles. Yet in the dream level of reality those waves “break” into particles, so to speak. They form pseudo-objects NOTE: thought forms from your viewpoint. While dreaming you accept that reality as real. . . . The nervous system itself is biologically equipped to perceive various gradations of physical matter, and there are “in-between” impulse passageways NOTE: our higher-frequency focus - seeing in between the physical moments that are utilized while dreaming. . . . In the dream state they allow you to perceive as physical matter objects that in the waking state would not be observable. (Roberts 450-451)UR2channeled • modern • Seth
Anything faster than the physical speed of light does not enter the physical universe. But once we are outside the perceptual constraints of the physical body, the speed of our perception is not so limited. In the higher-dimensional realms of consciousness, thoughts are reality, and each frequency domain defines the frequencies of consciousness at which certain thoughts can be perceived and thus will be considered “real”.
Our thoughts are taking superluminal form even while we are awake, focused in the physical — only our physical bodies typically cannot perceive them.
Thought Forms in the Physical
There are many such incipient or latent forms NOTE: thought forms. To help you imagine what I am speaking of, you might think of them as ghost images, or shadow images, though this is only for the sake of analogy—forms . . . just beneath, that have not emerged completely into physical reality as you know it, but are nevertheless vivid enough to be constructed. The Void Between Domains
Perhaps the void between frequency domains is a result of interference patterns.
This is the wave interference pattern produced by the double-slit experiment, in which light is shined through two slits, causing interference patterns to appear on the other side. Note that it results in seven bands of light, divided by voids. Most descriptions of the planes of consciousness say that they number seven, each with seven subplanes.
The Reality of Same-Frequency Objects
Dr. Peebles: Within that community [on the spirit side], they feel physical, as you feel physical to each other, because your frequency matches, and their frequency matches. When you have frequencies that match, the sensory system of self perceives it as solid. . . . So it is over here as it is on Earth. . . . The frequency is of a higher resonance than that of Earth. How can a vibration slower than physical matter not result in something even more solid?

Perceiving Frequency Domains

These moments occur at frequencies faster that physical perception, but our nonphysical consciousness is innately capable of perceiving at those frequencies. We do this every night in the dream state when consciousness leaves the physical body behind, along with its mesmerizing but slower frequency of consciousness.
We can see how different intervals of perception change what we see in the physical world. Benham’s Disk is a black and white disk with distinctive markings. When spun at different speeds, some of the black lines appear as color.

To further illustrate intervals of perception, take a look at the wagon wheel effect. This effect can readily be seen in the wheels of an accelerating car. As a car steadily accelerates, its wheels appear to rotate faster one way, then slow down and seem not to rotate at all, before beginning to slowly rotate the other direction. This can be seen in the following image as a repeating landscape passes by at an increasing speed:

As to the realities at different frequency domains of consciousness, perhaps Master Control of Tron is the best example:
As Master Control’s rapidly spinning faces comes to focus in on us, we are seeing the wagon wheel effect. It has changed its rate to appear exactly when it’s facing us, and thus appears stationary at that frequency, even though it’s still spinning at wild speeds. It’s chosen an “interval of perception” with which to look out onto our world. It is tuned in to us. In the same way, the higher self “spins” faster and slower to lock in to different frequency domains.
Seth states that all matter pulsates in and out of our universe at a rate much too rapid for our physical senses to detect. . . . A particle is in our three-dimensional world for a very small fraction of its cycle of pulsation. (Friedman 200)

Seth appears to be describing the frequency domains around which our experience pools into somewhat separate selves.
We are a single consciousness, but oriented in different directions, different input streams.
Relative Illusion and Reality
Each plane of consciousness is real to those operating at that frequency. While focused in the dream state, that world is 100% real to us. Only when viewed from the waking consciousness does it seem dim, distant, and unreal. Our dream self thinks the same of physical reality.
Higher frequencies of perception, closer to the Source, are experienced as more real. At these higher frequencies, we are seeing a more complete picture, with more context, and more information. The light of the Source is brighter, fuller, warmer, more connected and loving. From this perspective, the experiences we had at slower frequencies seem like fading dreams, full of fear and ignorance.
Imagine watching a movie where you only see 1 out of each 10 frames. We can get into the story. We’re missing a lot, but if we don’t know that there is more detail there, we won’t be aware of that fact. This is like our physical consciousness. Now say our consciousness increases and we’re seeing 2 out of each 10 frames. It’s more clear, brighter, and we’re catching more detail. It’s more real. “This is the real movie,” we think. But then it increases, again and again. We are now moving deeper into subconscious frequencies. Each time you think this must be the real, full movie. The slowly flashing picture we saw earlier seems unreal and incomplete now.
Our physical consciousness builds an understanding of itself and the world based on its limited perception. Moments of higher knowing come through, but they can be easily disregarded. At deeper subconscious levels we know the truth of things. When our perspective inevitably broadens to show us a much more full and detailed picture, we will feel that the limited understanding of the physical self is now superseded by this fuller understanding.
The Source is the source of all things. Depending on your level of awareness, when you look at something, you can see its surface and the illusion of it being separate from you. Or you can expand your view to see its foundation in the Source and its connection to you.
The sunlight ranges over the universe, and at incarnation we step out of it into the twilight of the body, and see but dimly during the period of our incarceration; at Death we step out of the prison again into the sunlight, and are nearer to the reality. Short are the twilight periods, and long the periods of the sunlight; but in our blinded state we call the twilight life, and to us it is the real existence. (Besant 20)

Physics: The Nature of Order
The study of chaos is the study of order and information. This ties in deeply with the microgeny — reality being created and sustained in every moment by The Source. The Source’s energy is a simple waveform, a source of order available in all realities and universes. Higher frequencies of consciousness represent increased order.
It is only through our limited context that we can experience chaos, or “not knowing”.
A coded message will seem completely disordered until one knows the code, whereupon the message suddenly becomes ordered and meaningful. . . .
No matter how far out the spectrum we go, randomness gives way to orderliness as broader contexts are included. . . .
In each succeeding broader context, meaningful order is always possible. . . .
Randomness can then be defined as a system in which the available information is incomplete. . . .
A view of an event in three-dimensional space is comparatively restricted. By increasing the dimensions, the view is more encompassing. . . .
The suborders are not independent but are affected by the larger order. . . .

Each higher frequency domain is the cause of the slower one following it in the microgeny. Each higher frequency is a higher order, a fuller context, and from its perspective provides a fuller understanding, a greater meaning.

Wave Motion in Slower Frequency Domains
The direct current of the flow from The Source forms periods of oscillation and vibration as it enters into slower-moving frequencies. Think of these as slower-moving substances. As the Source enters the slower, thicker medium of lower frequency domains, it begins to move back and forth in a spiral or wave-like manner, like syrup pouring when it reaches a solid. This is the source of the wave-like aspect of energy.
This syrup-like behavior can be seen in a phenomenon known as the viscous flow regime. In this case, it’s the thickness of the liquid itself that determines the wave motion when reaching a barrier. The fluid has to continuously get out of its own way to make room for itself. The 1.0 flow shown below is the closest to this waving back and forth. Note how the wave motion begins at 0.1 and the size increases at 1, 10, and 20, each time slowing its frequency (speed) and increasing its amplitude (size).
Energy Flow Across Frequency Domains
It’s useful to think of each slower frequency domain as a progressively slower, thicker medium. In each, motion is more constrained, energy is more limited, forming into vortexes of resistance, the origin of forms.
Higher-dimensional energy and movement reaches into the thicker, denser medium of the physical world, restraining its movement. This pattern is true across all frequency domains — the higher energy movement is slowed down and restrained by the denser medium of the slower domains.
We are like the branches of a tree, leaves dragging against the side of a building, the slower frequency of the physical. The physical, dragging, pulling against the natural flow of the branch in the breeze.
